As Seen on the Street

"Bunny Bubbles" turns up every once in a while on Cornmarket Street in Oxford. I don't really know what his deal is, but the kids find him entertaining, and he rings a bell everytime someone drops coins in the bucket.

Guitar Duo in Bath, Oct. 5th

Sorry for the poor quality of these videos- and for flipping the camera so many times.

After some creative googling, I discovered that these guys call themselves
The Showhawk Duo, and they've got a website.
They drew quite a crowd and were a lot of fun to listen to!
Enjoy!

Live-looping means that he can record himself playing, set that sound to loop, and then play another part on top of it. This way, it sounds like many people are playing at once, or that he has an accompaniment track- but it's just him!

This walking mop was very impressive

At first I was really confused about what was going on here, but then they handed out flyers. This is a "teaser" for the play Don Q, which will be performed in Oxford later this month. If you want to understand more, check out the website here!

This scene on the street (Oct. 17th) was not a performance- it was a protest. The clip is brief and shaky, but the haunting beat of the drum drew a hush on the street and brought attention to one of society's most despicable faults. Read more here and here

An Oxford Juggler handles 3 clubs on Broad Street. Sometimes he does swords, he also does flaming batons

There is a series of statues on Broad Street that are sometimes called "The Emperors' Heads" and we were told when we arrived that the Heads are often harmlessly pranked. Lately someone has been adorning them with traffic cones. Ha!
